L&R Roadlines Hosts Area 10 Open Day

L&R Roadlines, one of the UK’s leading road marking and surfacing contractors, hosted an open day at its Ellesmere Port headquarters for the Balfour Beatty Mott Macdonald (BBMM) joint venture team responsible for managing the Area 10 Asset Support Contract (ASC). L&R Roadlines is a key supply chain company for BBMM on the ASC, providing a comprehensive range of highway maintenance solutions including road marking renewal, replacement of cats-eyes, joint sealing and anti-skid surfacing.

According to Phil Reynolds, Asset Champion for Pavement, Road Marking and Studs at BBMM: “As a key partner to the joint venture team managing the Area 10 contract, L&R Roadlines is Area 10’s ‘go to’ company for all our road marking and studs work. The open day was an extremely useful and well attended event for BBMM. L&R impressed us with the amount of research, development and testing that goes into its material technology. Everyone who attended came away with a better picture on how we can make the specification and delivery of an often overlooked, yet vital component of the carriageway asset much more efficient”

L&R Roadlines provides the BBMM joint venture with a responsive and efficient service, carrying out maintenance and repair works virtually every night, enabling carriageways to be quickly reopened to traffic before busy morning rush hour periods avoiding journey disruption. A 24/7 emergency callout service is also provided on demand.

L&R Roadlines, added: “We are proud to be playing such a key role in maintaining and improving the Highway Agency’s strategic route network in the North West. It is the UK’s largest and busiest motorway and trunk road network covering Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside and parts of Lancashire. L&R Roadlines provides a flexible, scalable service enabling us to complete additional projects at short notice required.”

L&R Roadlines also partners with Balfour Beatty Mott Macdonald on a wide range of community engagement projects at local schools which raises the profile of the industry and the importance of an efficient road network. At these events, L&R Roadlines contributes high visibility vests and demonstrates how road markings are installed.
